Brief History of BISE Larkano
Three decades of educational excellence and service to the region
Our Foundation
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Larkano was established on December 19, 1995, under the provisions of the Sindh Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance. The Government of Sindh, Education Department, Karachi issued Notification No. SO(S&B) BISE-3-82/77 on October 8, 1978, to this effect.
Initially, the Board's office was set up in a rented building in the Gajjan Pur Muhalla of Larkano. Later, it was relocated to the Sindh Small Industries building in Larkano before moving to its current permanent location.
At the time of its establishment, the Board's territorial jurisdiction encompassed the districts of Larkano, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad. In 2005, the Government of Sindh bifurcated the Larkana and Jacobabad districts through a notification issued by the Revenue Department (dated 15-07-2005, NO.SO/HYD/200:Rev/616), creating two new districts: Kamber Shahdadkot (from Larkana District) and Kashmore Kandhkot (from Jacobabad District). Educational institutions in these newly formed districts automatically fell under the jurisdiction of BISE Larkano.
Subsequently, following orders from the Controlling Authority, all educational institutions in the Mehar and Khairpur Nathan Shah talukas of Dadu District were transferred from BISE Hyderabad to BISE Larkano. This transfer was authorized by Sindh Governor House letter No.GS/10(05)17/2001(SO-III)/725 dated 12th June, 2006.
